Blue badge parking permit

The Blue Badge Scheme provides a range of parking concessions for people with severe mobility problems who have difficulty using public transport. The badge enables holders to park close to where they need to go. The scheme operates throughout the UK, and is administered by local authorities who deal with applications and issue badges.

It allows them to park legally, close to places they need to visit such as shops and public buildings. Blue Badge holders can also park free in some pay and display car parks and on single and double yellow lines in most streets for up to three hours.

Blue Badges make it easier for some groups of disabled people to park near shops, stations and other facilities.
